Strategies CHANGE
Having a business mindset when it comes to being an entrepreneur MUST NEVER CHANGE.
So here's the tea ...
Having a business mindset is a basic requirement. It's like the foundation upon which all your grand entrepreneurial plans are built. So, what's the difference?
Well, let me break it down for you.
Imagine you're building a house, right? Now, a strategy for success would be like ensuring the light comes in at the right angles, that there is plenty of storage, the neighborhood is up and coming. Those things are important, sure, but they're not gonna mean much if you don't have a solid foundation, right? The house MUST have a solid foundation or it will darn well fall down!
That's where the business mindset comes into play.
Having a business mindset means you've got the right perspective, attitude, and approach to handle the challenges and opportunities that come your way. Y
ou are taking yourself seriously as a business person. It's about having a keen eye for spotting opportunities, being adaptable to changes in the market, and having the determination to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough.
It's what gives you the ability to think strategically, make informed decisions, and take calculated risks. It's that entrepreneurial spark that ignites your creativity, fuels your passion, and keeps you motivated when others might give up.
You see, strategies can change, trends can come and go, but having a solid business mindset is like having a compass that always points you in the right direction. It's about having a deep understanding of your industry, your customers, and your own strengths and weaknesses.
So, Zazzlepreneurs, if you want to rock Zazzle or ANY business and make your mark, having a business mindset is absolutely essential. Business is in my DNA.
I have been in business for 35yrs. I don't need anyone to tell me I need a business mindset, I eat, sleep and breathe it but if it's your first time, then there are ways to get those neurons firing in the right direction.
So who are the people who think 'Business Mindset is a Strategy'?
Do you see yourself here?
Let's take a lighthearted look at who these folks might be.
First up, we have the "Quick Fixers."
These are the individuals who believe that all it takes to succeed in business is a clever strategy or a magic bullet solution. They're always on the lookout for the latest trend or fad, thinking it will instantly propel them to success. While strategies are important, they overlook the fact that a solid business mindset is the foundation upon which those strategies are built.
Next, we have the "Surface Dwellers."
These folks are content with scratching the surface of business matters. They may have a surface-level understanding of market trends and basic business principles, but they fail to grasp the deeper nuances and complexities. They underestimate the importance of developing a holistic business mindset that encompasses critical thinking, adaptability, and resilience.
Then there are the "Comfort Zone Seekers."
These individuals prefer to stay within their comfort zones and avoid taking risks. They may have a strategy or two in place, but they're unwilling to embrace the uncertainty and challenges that come with running a business. They fail to realize that a business mindset is all about stepping out of that cozy zone, embracing calculated risks, and continuously learning and growing.
Lastly, we have the "Short-term Visionaries."
These people have a narrow focus on short-term gains and immediate results. They prioritize short-lived strategies that offer quick wins, disregarding the long-term sustainability and growth of their business. They fail to understand that a solid business mindset involves a broader perspective, strategic planning, and a dedication to long-term success.
Now, it's important to note that these perspectives can be temporary or misguided. With the right guidance and a shift in mindset, these individuals can discover the true value of cultivating a robust business mindset that goes beyond mere strategies.
Success in business requires more than just a clever plan. It's about developing a mindset that encompasses a deep understanding of your industry, a willingness to adapt, a passion for continuous learning, and the determination to overcome obstacles.
So, let's encourage those "strategy-only" thinkers to broaden their horizons and embrace the power of a well-rounded business mindset.
My general descriptor was probably a "Chaotic Creative". Making products I thought people might like, without a formal plan to discover who's buying what, or what is popular. Add a sprinkle of terror, knowing I was a bit of a shiny-object chaser, that I *must* get designing and publishing products. No time to waste! No time to plan and strategize. Like jumping in the car and going - no idea where, or if I'm going in the right direction!
Having got mostly through Module 1 of the course, the process of taking a breather, and actually thinking and writing down what I need to plan for, meant breaking up processes to answer the questions for the Business Plan. Even got…
My key takeaway here is “…being adaptable to changes in the market, and having the determination to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough.”
And for me, being adaptable to changes on Z has been valuable. I’ve been on Z for so long I have welcomed the many platform updates and improved my creative skill set by using those and researching even more. 👍🏼
