- 🎓 INVITATION COURSE- FEEDBACKEn 🎓INVITATION COURSE FEEDBACK6 December 2023Mejor respuesta1. On a scale of 1 to 5, how would you rate the overall quality of the Beginners Guide to Invitation Design Course? (1 - Poor, 5 - Excellent) 5, it was packed with so much that goes even beyond the topic of wedding invitations. 2. How engaging did you find the course material? Very engaging. I wasn't sure if I was even going to get into wedding invites after this but it did get those inspiration juices going and I spent 3 hours last night designing my first one and I love it! 3. What topic/s did you find the most helpful? Wording and arranging were always going to be my weakest areas so for me those were the topics that most helped me. 4. Did the course adequately cover various aspects of invitation design, including color theory, typography, and layout? I would say yes. My background was actually in wedding photography for a very long time, and I had developed much of my design experience in those years (in color theory, typography and layout) by designing save the dates, shower invitations, and the mac-daddy of all design projects, the wedding album. It seems to me you've covered many fundamentals of those design topics. Wedding invitations however were never something I did, and even after joining zazzle, wasn't something I was interrested in getting into. But once again, you have inspired me to jump in and I think I'm going to have lots of fun with it. 5. Were the provided examples and practical exercises helpful in understanding the concepts? Absolutely and I immediately designed my very first wedding invitation during this module. 6. Did the course provide enough information for you to confidently design invitations for different types of events? Yes! A bonus I didn't even expect. And such a long list of events I really never considered before. 7. How satisfied were you with the amount of information provided? Very! 8. Did the course meet your expectations regarding the depth and breadth of the content? It went above and beyond. 9. Is there any specific topic or area you would have liked to see covered in more detail? Yes, it came to me while doing this module though it has nothing to do with this module. To be completely honest, I would love a module that covers workflow and effeciency because I'm all over the place. With my wedding business I had a strict workflow that I followed to the T that kept me working effeciently and allowing me to move at a decent speed though my editing and design process, but with zazzle for whatever reason I can't seem to nail that down. I bounce from one idea to the next, one store to the other, spinning my wheels in this sort of unorganized fashion where I take one step forward and 3 steps back so my productivity is lacking when I know I should be getting so much more done in the time I'm investing. If you have a brilliant workflow that you use I'd love to learn all about it. 10. Were there any challenges or difficulties you encountered during the course? none 11. Do you feel more confident in your invitation design skills after completing the course? Very! 12. Overall, do you believe the Invitation Design Course provided value? Well it got me to design my very first wedding invitation which was not something I was interested in before so I'd say yes, anything that inspires me to create is valuable to me. 13. How likely are you to recommend this course to someone interested in learning invitation design? (1 - Not Likely, 5 - Very Likely) 5 14. Do you have any other comments or suggestions to improve the course content or learning experience? The only thing I can think of is making sense of all the invitation sizes and formats and creating wedding collection with all these matching products. I made my practice invitation on the standard 5x7 then I pulled up the all-in-one and wasn't sure how to make sense of it at first. And since I never play in this area, making a matching collection with all the options (at this moment at least) feels a bit overwhelming.12
- 🎓 NINJA NICHE FEEDBACKEn 🎓NINJA NICHE FEEDBACK3 December 2023Mejor respuesta1. Have you had any successes already as a result of implementing the strategies in Module 2? Please detail them. It was so overstimulating I had to open up a few new stores! I've managed to fill a notebook and a trello board with ideas, one thing led to another, and yes I'm seeing sales! It's very exciting! All I need now is the time to get all my ideas out. 2. Which specific topics or concepts covered in the "All Things Niche" module did you find most valuable or interesting? Using amazon for research and all of the niche ideas you gave us was an absolue game-changer for me. My A.D.D. made it impossible for me to concentrate on just one thing, I want to do ALL the things! 3. Did the module provide you with a clear understanding of how to identify profitable niches on Zazzle? It definitly forced me outside of my bubble and helped me plan some new directions that I'm hoping will be profitable. 4. Were the examples provided in the module helpful in illustrating the concepts discussed? Absolutely! 5. Did you find the resources and tools recommended in the module useful for conducting niche research on Zazzle? Yes, pinterest is my nemisis but I've been working on using pinterest trends to help me make sense of the platform and niche hunting. 6. Did the module provide sufficient guidance on how to evaluate the competition within a niche on Zazzle? Yes. 7. Were the strategies and tips shared in the module effective in helping you stand out in a crowded marketplace? Actually yes, with some things I definitly saw a difference. With more time I think I can scale that up. 8. How would you rate the organization and structure of the "All Things Niche" module? Were the lessons presented in a logical and coherent manner? It's a great presentation. I had to walk away for a while and come back and I was afraid I'd be lost but it's so easy to follow that I had no problems even after taking a break from the course. Now that the holiday shopping season is in and I've done all I can, I have the time to finally move forward to module 3. 9. Did the module meet your expectations in terms of depth and breadth of content covered? Exceeded. I was so over inspired with all the niches and research advice that I ended up spreading myself out even more, but that's a good thing. 10. Were the learning materials and exercises, helpful in grasping the concepts and applying them to your Zazzle business? Oh yes! 11. How well did the module address your questions and concerns related to finding profitable niches on Zazzle? Very well, it was like opening a whole new world, made me realise what I've been missing. 12. Do you have any suggestions for improving the "All Things Niche" module? Are there any specific areas that you feel could be expanded upon or explained in more detail? Not without going outside of the scope of the module, so no I think it was just the right amount of quality information. It was enough to inspire me without overwhelming me. 13. Do you have any additional comments or feedback about the "All Things Niche" module? Nothing to add to what I've already shared. 14. Overall, how would you rate the "All Things Niche" course module on a scale of 1 to 5? (1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest) 5 15. Would you recommend Module 2 to others and if so why? Oh absolutely. I think most people are lost when it comes to niche ideas and research so this goes a long way for most people. 16. What are your expectations for Module 3? Well since I'm returning so late and it's already out I can see what's waiting for me and I'm super excited to dive in! I expect it will be just as informative and the first 2 modules and since it's an area I haven't done much in I expect I'll have so much to learn from it.11
- 🎓 INVITATION COURSE- FEEDBACKEn 🎓INVITATION COURSE FEEDBACK28 November 2023Mejor respuesta1. On a scale of 1 to 5, how would you rate the overall quality of the Beginners Guide to Invitation Design Course? (1 - Poor, 5 - Excellent) 5 – There was a lot of good information. 2. How engaging did you find the course material? The course material is interesting. I have taken graphic design courses before so a number of the items were not new to me. However, for someone who has never taken the courses I have, they stand to benefit a lot from this course material. I still came across things I did not know. I am aware of the ‘Rule of Thirds’. I agree with it. I find that this rule automatically forces you to organize the information. I have used this rule on landscape oriented corporate invitations. I was happy to find ‘landscape orientation’ in your examples as well. I agree with font pairing. The fonts should reflect the type of wedding the couple is having and be readable. I remember attending a wedding back in the 1980s. The printer bought a super fancy script font which he used for the couple’s invitations. NONE of us could read the script. Since a normal sans serif was used at the bottom for the church name and reception hall, I went by that and just confirmed the details at the wedding shower. Back then choices were limited but not today. If you don’t put an effort in to be clean with your work both with layout and using a legible font, you will be passed over. At Zazzle that is unlikely to happen that the font itself is not up to par but there are other ways to “sabotage” one’s work which is what this course went into. 3. What topic/s did you find the most helpful? Using high quality images that you have the right to use matters. There is nothing worse than getting a cease & desist order from the rightful owner. Thankfully this did not happen to me but I know of a designer that had to chase a corporation whose designer took her work and ‘rearranged it’. Choosing the correct size of the invitation matters. For many corporate events that I have attended, a simple well designed postcard will do. The original graphic design course I took did not really go into researching trends as the focus was on the type of corporate event it was and which clients the entity was trying to attract. So I did find it helpful in this course to be directed into researching trends. Weddings & showers do change over time. When I look back on the weddings of the 1980s in my own area, they do have differences with what happens today. I was surprised how many weddings around me now take place in the country on farms and ‘destination weddings’. That was unheard of years back as everything was in the city’s “nice banquet halls”. ‘Matching stationery’ is a good list. That is one thing I struggle with. Keeping colors down to 3 is another good rule. I am a rainbow person and totally love color so rules like that had to be ingrained into me with each graphic design and art course I’ve ever taken. 4. Did the course adequately cover various aspects of invitation design, including color theory, typography, and layout? Yes, I agree with cultural associations and color psychology. I had to take a ‘cultural communications’ course at university. It was meant for business travellers. Colors and even numbers matter in a lot of cultures. The number “13” is such a taboo number in western culture (USA & Canada) that the 13th seat on an airplane is called “14” as well as the “13th” floor in an apartment or office building. Typography has to be readable as I have experienced it not being so. White space matters in both invitation design but all around in the online world. Blog posts are an invitation to more, often products and when you don’t make enough of white space, the text becomes hard to read causing most readers to scroll away before they are done. That defeats the purpose so this skill can be transferred to other forms of writing as well. 5. Were the provided examples and practical exercises helpful in understanding the concepts? Yes. It is with practice that we get better with layouts. I find that even after doing homework assignments, it’s good to let things sit for a few days. Looking at it with fresh eyes helps me to identify areas that need improvement. 6. Did the course provide enough information for you to confidently design invitations for different types of events? Yes. I had a font teacher who would tell us to think of an emotion and then start writing out a word. It was funny as to how the lettering style changed when you did such an exercise. When you look at fonts from Zazzle’s selection, that is something to keep in mind. What does it remind you of? There is a time and a place for each font. Technically speaking you can use any of them for an invitation. You just need to identify the audience first as well as the type of event you are designing for. So yes, I do think the information provided in this course is helpful. 7. How satisfied were you with the amount of information provided? I found it to be quite thorough. I like that you also mentioned flourishes. This tends to be left out of ‘font discussions’ when putting a project together. 8. Did the course meet your expectations regarding the depth and breadth of the content? Yes. I like how you went into where to place the graphic elements as well as suggesting a black and a white overlay text version. I would not have thought of two versions. 9. Is there any specific topic or area you would have liked to see covered in more detail? I think you covered many different areas of what to look out for when putting together invitations. Many people do not think about mood and tone enough. It’s more that they want to have a similar style to another popular designer but they don’t think about the “Why it is like this”. 10. Were there any challenges or difficulties you encountered during the course? I found putting together invitations takes practice as you are working around the text with graphic elements. This is something newer to me in practice as I am a fabric designer. I am very use to taking my motifs and scattering them all over the artboard and making sure that they repeat. For invitations, the text comes first and the motifs are placed to enhance the words. This might be why I have started on other products first with my motifs as I have to rethink how I place everything. I have gotten better and I think I will succeed with invitations as well. 11. Do you feel more confident in your invitation design skills after completing the course? Yes, I do. There are so many personal invitations one can design for. I have an idea for a type of fundraising that would be a micro niche. I have some ideas for graphic elements. Having read so much on the internet about this problem, I am surprised that there has not been this type of genre on Zazzle yet. I plan on pursuing this after the Christmas holiday season. 12. Overall, do you believe the Invitation Design Course provided value? Yes. I really like the wording suggestions for the different types of invitations. I’m not good at coming up with “fun lines” yet so this is especially helpful. 13. How likely are you to recommend this course to someone interested in learning invitation design? (1 - Not Likely, 5 - Very Likely) 5 – Very likely. 14. Do you have any other comments or suggestions to improve the course content or learning experience? I can’t think of anything else.11
